This is my Hanukkah menorah, made of clay and covered with glazed paints. The centerpiece features a man and a woman, where the woman holds the shamash — the main candle, and the man symbolizes the lighting of the Hanukkah candles. The sculpture is made in a traditional style with elements of modern glazing techniques, giving it brightness and expressiveness.
Creating this piece, I was inspired by the meaning of Hanukkah as a holiday of light and hope. The symbolism of the figures embodies unity in religious practice: the woman holds the flame lit by the man, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and joint efforts in the celebration. This work reflects the spirit of respect and love, conveying traditions through generations.
