In this painting, I focused on perspective to deepen the sense of space and movement. The staircase occupying the right side of the canvas ascends, creating a converging lines effect that leads the viewer's gaze to the bright yellow-orange sun at the top of the composition. This creates an illusion of depth and gives the painting a dynamic sense of height perception.
Additionally, the use of black and white steps emphasizes this effect, offering a contrast that seems almost three-dimensional. The solitary figure at the bottom of the painting, standing at the foot of the staircase, enhances this aspect as if it is poised to begin its ascent, underscoring the theme of journey and aspiration. The clean triangular shapes and sharp architectural lines in the surrounding space help create a clear structure that guides the gaze and adds structure to the overall composition.
